Rome or as called the Eternal City, is the capital of Italy and the origin of the great Roman Empire. Its history runs back 2800 years of existence and carries a huge legacy as a millenium center of power. It is located between the Apennine mountains and the Tyrrhenian sea.
Around 2.6 million people live only in Rome while the total population reaches 4.2 million in its wider metropolitan area. Roman Republic old motto, “Senatus Populusque Romanus” (S.P.Q.R) means The Senate and People of Rome! The amazing thing is that ancient Rome, was actually founded as a small village on top of the Palatine Hill by Romulus and Remus, two twins that were abandoned in the Tiber river and raised from a she-wolf right before Faustulus, the shepherd!

There are two airport options you can choose to land to Rome. Leonardo da Vinci/Fiumicino (FCO) airport is the biggest one and Ciampino is the second airport. Keep in mind that the fastest way to get you into Rome from the Leonardo da Vinci/Fiumicino (FCO) airport is the Leonardo Express. It leaves the airport every 30 minutes and leads to Rome Termini in the city center. Second option would be the suburban train but watch out to get off at the Ostiense train station and connect to the B line of the Metro.
